What BuiltByMe is
BuiltByMe is a product directory specifically for independent makers — solo founders, bootstrapped developers, and small teams who build software without outside funding. We launched in 2025 and have grown to over 668 approved products across 20 categories, submitted by more than 1,126 makers worldwide.
Unlike aggregator sites that scrape or auto-import products, every listing on BuiltByMe is submitted by the maker and reviewed by our team before it appears in the directory. Products span SaaS tools, AI apps, developer utilities, mobile apps, browser extensions, marketing tools, and more.
Our approval standards
We manually review every submission. A product must pass all of the following to be approved:
- Real and functional — The product must have a working website. Vaporware, landing pages with no product, and coming-soon pages are rejected.
- Built by an independent maker — The submitter must be the maker or co-maker. Products from large funded companies or agencies are not eligible.
- Clear description — The product must clearly explain what it does and who it is for. Vague or misleading descriptions are sent back for revision.
- No spam or duplicates — We reject products that are clones of existing submissions, spam submissions, or products designed primarily for link-building with no real user value.
- Genuine maker profile — Submitters must have a real maker profile. Anonymous or throwaway accounts are flagged for additional review.
The weekly competition
Every week (Monday through Sunday), newly launched products compete for the most community upvotes. The product with the highest upvote count at the end of the week wins:
- A dedicated feature in the BuiltByMe newsletter
- A promotion post on our X (Twitter) account
- A permanent weekly winner badge on their product page
Past weekly winners are preserved in the Spotlight Archive, which documents the top product from every week since BuiltByMe launched.
Listing plans
Listed in the directory. Link to your product is nofollow. Up to 3 free submissions per account.
Everything in Free, plus your product link becomes dofollow — passing SEO value to your site.
Dofollow link plus permanent placement in the Featured Products sidebar shown on every page of the directory.

Any independent maker, solo founder, or small team can submit a product. We welcome bootstrapped SaaS products, web apps, mobile apps, developer tools, browser extensions, and more. The product must be built by you — not by a large funded company or agency.

Browsing BuiltByMe is completely free. Submitting a product is free and includes a nofollow link to your site. The Launch plan ($9 one-time) upgrades your link to dofollow. The Featured plan ($39/month) adds dofollow plus permanent placement in the Featured Products sidebar shown across the entire site.
